General
This is perhaps one of the best Pelikan fountain pens of the late 1960s and 1970s, the MK20 production known in Europe as the Silvexa range. The Silvexa name corresponds to most Pelikan pens which had either silver or bright chrome plated parts or trimmings. The MK20 were considered one of the best at the time, whilst also being affordable for many.
Features
These fountain pens are one of the most reliable and elegant Pelikan pens, known for being well built, meant to last and endure any hard work for years to come. This fountain pen has a blue ink window and a relatively smooth piston mechanism. Our MK20 “wing” nib is of F size, solid gold (Au585). Its piston is one of the best designs invented by Pelikan and marketed as Airplane safe as it won’t leak ink during aviation pressure changes. Applying the test of a strong white LED light inside the MK20 produces the red colour transfer light, similar if not identical to the one observed with the genuine Montblanc No. 149/145 caps. These fountain pens are excellent both in its presentation, popular appeal and smooth writing quality.
Comment
The MK20 pen we own, works hard on any office letterhead paper, whilst still writing perfectly. Summing up, one of the best Pelikan pens of the 1970’s. It is made out of black high-quality resin with high shine gloss and good impact protection, using polished chromed metal parts including its clips and two rings.

Ink used: Parker Quink Blue, France/UK
