Parker Sonnet Series Fountain Pen (1994-2003)

Parker Sonnet Series Fountain Pen (1994-2003) - pen

General

Parker has made this edition of Sonnet fountain pen for nearly ten years and the whole Sonnet Series for over twenty-nine years, and it has a loyal global following, myself and my own Blue-Black ink including. In 2008, the Parker Sonnet range was relaunched and renewed with new designs, updated many colours and new finishes. The Sonnet range has been a classic and extremally popular range for Parker.

Features

Made in France, stainless steel in silver colour brushed cap and barrel and gold colour finished clip and trim. It is the fountain pen designed with a gold-plated stainless steel and in a medium size nib. Hand assembled and available in a comprehensive range of designs, finishes and nib sizes. Its length is 134 mm with the grip section diameter being 10mm. Being all metal, its weight at 26 g is perfectly sensible. I like the brushed stainless-steel finish which does not scratch as easily as some other pen finishes including the black lacquer versions. Our Sonnet came with standard Parker converter but we initially used also some ink cartridges.

Comment

This is highly recommended workhorse of the fountain pen coming from a very well-known and highly respected stable. It is used here all the time and every day, however only recently with a Diamine warm brown ink. Buying Parker Sonnet on Ebay is a gamble as the imitations and clones are everywhere. Even the best of clones of Sonnet are not of the same quality of workmanship and materials used. Forewarned is forearmed for sure.
