This pen was purchased on Ebay in July 2023 advertised as a large volume purchased and original and “real” Parker Sonnet, made in France but due to the wholesale purchase it did not include any paperwork or original packaging. Description: “100% New High-Quality Fountain Pen, the brand of the pen is Parker. This pen is a plunger and cartridge pen which means you can take the plunger out and use a cartridge, or simply use the plunger and suck ink from a bottle into the pen”. The PRC based Ebay seller had positive feedback score of 96.5%. The advert offered 9 different colours and finishes plus volume purchase discount. This seller is Ebay member since 2012.
Features
As advertised: Pen weight: 28g, Pen Length:135mm, Pen: Diameter: 12mm, as received: Pen weight:26.6g, Pen Length:133mm, Pen Diameter: 12.9mm. The production date code on the pen is shown as IIIQ, also it says Parker, France. This means Q1/1990. There certainly were no Parker Sonnets made in Q1/1990, as the first Sonnet production pieces arrived almost 3 years later. When contacting the seller of this pen, we asked: Can you please confirm that this pen is GENUINE Sonnet made in France please? The answer: Sorry, I can’t recognize a fountain pen. But I have consulted with my supplier before purchasing these fountain pens, and they told me that this is true.
Comment
The Parker Pen Company production code date was checked and verified with: parkerpens.net, parkercollector.com, Tony Fischier and several other highly reputable sources. Additionally, the black lacquer finish, only after few days of very careful use, developed first scratches. Otherwise, this pen works well. To be continued…

Ink used: Parker Quink Blue-Black, France/UK
