Parker Slimfold Fountain Pen (1963)

Parker Slimfold Fountain Pen (1963) - pen

General

The Parker Slimfold was a very small and slim Duofold. Like the other British made Duofold fountain pens of the 1960s it was available in the four base colours of black, blue, red, and green, the green version being the rarest and therefore still quite difficult to find. We have that pretty and rare green Slimfold which is very elegant and it looks quite special.

Features

The screw-on cap of the Slimfold was re-designed in the later years and became very similar to the Parker 45, with its own matching clip. Later in 1971 the New Slimfold was launched, also built in the UK. It was again based on the Parker 45, but somewhat shorter. It also had the Parker 45 nib and clip. Our green Slimfold comes with gold filled clip and a matching single gold-filled ring. The Parker original nib is made with 14k gold (Au585), in size M and it is No.5. The cylinder is engraved with the Parker logo, Slimfold brand and Made in England words. The filler is of Aerometric Parker type converter for bottled ink, whilst some compatible cartridges can still be used.

Comment

The Parker Slimfold was discontinued fifteen years later in 1975, but they continued manufacturing it in Denmark. These pens are easily identified by the Christian Olsen anchor. Elegant, well designed and made fountain pen with semi-flex 14k gold nib. We prefer them in green colour and we use our Slimfold here with the popular Parker Blue-Black Quink ink.
