Montblanc Noblesse Slimline Fountain Pen (1974) - pen

General

The Montblanc Noblesse Slimline fountain pen was originally launched the mid 1970’s following Montblanc’s VIP line. They were available on sale alongside the Slimline series, which was and still is a very popular choice, as is our Noblesse …Oblige Slimline.

Features

The Slimline pens were easily identified by their additional small, 3.6 mm in diameter Montblanc logo which was added into the end of its gold-plated fixed type clip. Additionally, the Slimline collection of fountain pens was available in a choice of lacquered colours. The cylinder and cap of our pen are made in a popular classic red colour, with the relatively long grip section, completed in matt black finish. The nib is made of 22K gold plated stainless steel, and it is rigid and smooth. This pen is 138 mm long and its weight is 22g. The Montblanc Noblesse Oblige Fountain Pen featured several similar editions and versions released post the original launch date.

Comments

Lovely pen. We have this Noblesse fountain pen, which is currently 49 years old. It is aging gracefully, just perhaps it needs a new compatible converter. Being an original Monblanc, its current Ebay range of prices represent decent value for money. If you are lucky, you may find an example with the solid 14 K gold nib. The Noblesse second-generation fountain pen models were more expensive than the standard Slimline due to its upgrade in the form of a solid gold nib, but not in France for obvious reasons.
