Autograph Marble Fountain Pen (1935-50) - pen

General

Autograph fountain pens. They made celluloid pens with the Autograph name at least until 1963. This is an Autograph fountain pen in grey and black marble celluloid, circa 1944-1946. It’s a 117mm long, lever filler fountain pen with a cap and barrel made from the same celluloid. Also different material here, than other Autograph pens were made. It has a medium size nib in alloy sometimes marked as a nib with a special alloy made in U.S.A. stamped on it, possibly a stainless-steel nib.

Features

The clip face comes with Parker style arrow and is made of stainless steel. The single ring is lightly chrome plated and cut into the base of the cap. This model was made in several two-toned colours and solid black. The barrel is stamped with an AUTOGRAPH brand name. The ink capacity was stated at just approx. 1ml and is easy to fill. The stainless-steel nib in a standard F size is marked as Iridium Point and 1st Quality.

Comment

Some other Autograph pens are stamped American Pencil Co over Hoboken Made in U.S.A. New Jersey. This pen very closely resembles the Conway Stewarts, UK made fountain pens in terms of design and build, except for its nib and feeder assembly. It is a simple honest and reliable pen, made many years ago but still in working order and a nice touch and addition to our collection.
