General
The Sheaffer Lady Fountain Pen was once described as “writes like dream…refills like her lipstick” perhaps, but more interestingly “Lady” models of fountain pens were usually accepted, as a scaled down version of a men’s model. Judging from the ladies’ models reviewed in this book, the answer to this question and description is not that simple.
Features
“Writes like a dream…refills like her lipstick”, slogan nowadays is inaccurate as many types of ink converters are designed to suck ink form the bottle, whilst refills are, in short simple terminology reserved for throwaway cartridges, which for environmentally conscious people could be a problem. Both ladies and gentleman knows full well, that tons of expensive ink plastic cartridges are uneconomic when compared with the bottles, and are also an increasing environmental problem. Sheaffer Model 928 Lady Fountain Pen is a lovely pen manufactured with a both gold-filled cylinder and cap. The grip section is made of a jet-black resin. The clip is of an elegant spring-loaded design with a Sheaffer white dot on it as per usual. The nib in this fine example is made of 14K solid gold and is in a highly popular medium size. It is rigid and smooth to very smooth in our opinion.
Comment
I know that this pen is apparently designed as so-called “Lady” model, but after quite intensive daily use, I know that this is rather a misleading term. This pen is really for anyone who like its superb classy design combined with a convenient smooth writing style. Its length is almost identical to Parker Model 61 (2 mm difference). No comment.

Ink used: Parker Quink Blue-Black, France/UK
