Majohn P136 “Moonman” Fountain Pen (2023)

Majohn P136 "Moonman" Fountain Pen (2023) - pen

General

Majohn “Moonman” is apparently a relatively new pen company from PRC. Like many other pen companies, they are an innovative and progressive brand with lots of new and also old ideas, and make pens that are sold on-line worldwide. “Moonman” branded writing instruments tend to be of higher quality and higher cost than many other manufacturers coming from that part of the world.

Features

Two Majohn P136 “Moonman” Fountain Pens which are presented here. The first one is made in black resin and comes with F fine nib, the second is officially called red but really it is more like in burgundy with M medium nib. Our pair of Majohn P136 pens arrived in April 2023 and both pens really looked beautiful, and both feel amazing to hold in the hand. We’ve had two different nibs to try and examine, including the resin of both pens, first impression is great. One hopes that they will function just as well as they look. For examination and testing we used Parker Quink Blue-Black ink. These pens have slightly different nibs i.e., bi-colour and/or single bright steel colour, but both are quite rigid. We have received also a brass manufactured nib removal tool. Caution, the wrong direction of turning nib will damage the pen body. The principle is the same as with the Montblanc equivalent.

Comment

Those who use these pens myself included, know that P136 “Moonman” is able to perform very well and stand on its own, the influence or the similarity to MB146 is another subject, better left to experts.
