General
Quite popular and also relatively new pen brand, easily recognized on Amazon and elsewhere. It is a result of China/UK cooperation and some very interesting market positioning and on-line product marketing.
Features
This is the heaviest fountain pen in the book at 54.7 g. Even the ONOTO Spitfire all metal construction is only 44 g. There are other heavy pens around e.g., ONOTO Longitude with plunger at 52.5 g or 44.5 g with converter but they are sold as special edition pieces build for a different markets. Wordsworth & Black Majesti Fountain Pen out of box works very well and if you experience any issues or have a question or two, their customer support works politely and fast. Our example of Majesti came with the medium size No.6 nib, gold-plated stainless-steel base metal and Iridium point. Both barrel and cap are jet black lacquered with the trim components being gold plated. The pen overall length is 149 mm which is similar to Montblanc 149 (147.3 mm) but the 149 weight is only 36.9 g for our 1994 edition. The 1970s model of 149 is even lighter at 31.9 g. So, this pen is not for everyone. My Majesti example works well and its weight does not cause me any problems. Just it feels very solid, which is not at all bad thing in those days.
Comment
Very well marketed on Amazon. This pen arrived here more than six months ago and it has been used very frequently. If there are two points to mention, first one is its weight and the second is its price which came down to £26.90 recently. Not all posted comments on the Web I can and will agree with, fair is fair. My Majesti works just fine.
