Mulberry Art Deco Style Fountain Pen (mid 1990s)

Mulberry Art Deco Style Fountain Pen (mid 1990s) - pen

General

A stunning MULBERRY, cartridge-based reservoir or converter fountain pen. The pen is an all-metal build in a lovely brown, gold and brass colour. The finishing and detailing on this Mulberry pen are both very good. The number on the back of the Mulberry gold plated nib shows No.5 but it looks more like No.6 to me. Screw on cap, with Mulberry logo on it. This pen is quite small with its total length at 125mm but still it has a really good feel to it. Sold with its original cartridge to remove ink from the pot by twisting the end of it. The Mulberry brand was founded in London in 1971.

Features

Design and appearance of this pen is a very light quasi–Art Deco style. Mulberry offered these pens successfully during the 1990s, unfortunately they do not produce any types of fountain pens any more or even offer any service or spare parts. I do not think they sold a massive amount of these pretty, perhaps even lady pens. So, with all proprietary design and perhaps with some of Far Eastern parts, we had to ask for help from our friendly support contact from Oxford who managed to fit a new converter, without which the pen could not be used at all. This finally worked well. Thank you, John.

Comment

When contacting Mulberry in London they denied any knowledge of such a pen and very politely left us in a lurch. The determination and experience of John Sorowka in Oxford made all the difference. We are now back in a business.
